Introduction
We are seeking data engineers to work on our backend systems. Our frameworks run over vast troves of data daily to produce output for a variety of consumers, including our real-time bidding (RTB) engines, machine learning pipelines, and real-time dashboards. Our infrastructure engineers have a passion for scalable, efficient technology, robustly operating at petabyte scales.
About the Role
The Contact Data team is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build out a state of the art Customer Data Platform. Your mission will be to work with others to develop a service for storing and querying event and attribute data. This service will serve as the foundation upon which many of our products will be built. As part of the project you will get to work with cutting edge technologies such as GraphQL, Aurora, and Rust. Prior experience with these technologies is not required, though, as long as you’re ready and willing to learn. You’ll have the opportunity to play with the latest tech, learn new skills, sharpen your existing ones, and make a difference in a rapidly growing company.
Responsibilities
? Collaborate with engineers and product managers on building out our backend framework
? Implement features using Python, Docker, AWS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and GraphQL
? Make well-founded decisions on new technology and processes to adopt
? Build for performance and reliability
? Code responsibly: minimize tech debt, advocate for change or investment as needed, test and monitor everything
Qualifications
? 4+ years experience in backend engineering
? Productive in one or more imperative programming languages
? Experience with big data processing pipelines or database internals
? A solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals
? Some experience with Python and AWS
Bonus Point
? Experience with the latest tools we’re using: Rust, Aurora, and GraphQL
? Knowledge of AdTech or the CDP (Customer Data Platform) space
? Experience with agile development methodologies, CI/CD
? Contributions to the open source community
